Sustainable Broilers Production Performance under High Stocking Condition through Colocynth Seed Supplementation

The negative impacts of high stocking density on the commercial poultry industry compromise sustainable birds’ productivity and welfare. Thus, we investigated potential colocynth seed (CC) supplementation in alleviating broilers’ performance, immunity, inflammation, redox status. A total 648 one-day-old male Cobb 500 chicks were recruited distributed into 2 × factorial arrangements. treatment groups assigned based as low (9 birds/m2; LSD) or (19 HSD), CC without (0 g/kg feed; −CC) with (1 +CC) supplementation. Data collected from week three to five age. Production performance was monitored meat quality assessed. Blood samples measure stress markers, humoral immune response, inflammatory cytokines, antioxidant activity levels. results indicated that HSD induced production reduction, immunosuppression, imbalance status, along elevation inflammation markers Breast weight yield reduced by 9 1%, respectively, compared LSD groups. However, birds able slightly improve daily gain, body breast weight, showing no significant difference LSD-CC group, significantly increased yield. Furthermore, cytokines Under HSD, both cell-mediated humeral responses elevated non-supplemented group. It can be concluded is a detrimental factor industry, which generates oxidative and, subsequently, immunosuppression impaired performance. Nevertheless, dietary used natural source mitigate well physiological competency.
